Since I was a young boy, one of the things I enjoyed the most when building a model was detailing the model and putting my own personal touch on it.
Whether it was a model boat, a train layout or an airplane; I spent hours thinking about different ways that I could detail and personalize them.
One of the things I love about FMS Planes is that their models are 90% complete with super details which means there’s very little build time. So adding your own personal touch to these models is very easy.
On my B-25 I added details to:
- the engine cylinders and the flight crew.
- I also added running lights, flaps, and an operational bomb bay.
- The bomb bay is actually the front wheel housing of an FMS 1400mm T-28. The wheel housing works great and fits right in the mid wing section under the underbelly of the plane where the wings join the fuselage.
The one thing you have to think about, when you add these details is just managing all the additional wires that are needed to operate these additions. But, it’s well worth the effort when you see these planes in the air. You will be the talk of the airfield!
They are just beautiful and they look so realistic.
